EMDR Inspired NFT Art

Artwork inspired by Mark Odland’s book EMDR Inspired Art and Poetry – A Meditation on Hope and Pain for Troubled Times is now available for sale as NFTs (non fungible tokens). If you’re already into Bitcoin or alternative cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, you understand that the world of crypto is not simply a strange kind of money, but a disruptive technological movement some believe will become “internet 3.0.” NFTs are part of this movement, allowing artists around to use new technology to display their digital art.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, an NFT is “a unique digital identifier that cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided, that is recorded in a blockchain, and that is used to certify authenticity and ownership (as of a specific digital asset and specific rights relating to it).”

There’s a bit of a learning curve to buying your first NFT, but no doubt you have a friend or relative that would be happy to help! Once you get past the initial learning curve, you’ll discover that NFTs are a fun way to invest in one of a kind, digital art. Once you own an NFT, you can keep it in your digital wallet, display it on a screen, print it out and frame, or sell it online to someone else.

Mark is pleased to announce that the his first NFT, inspired by the illustration from his book, has now been minted and is live on the website opensea.io, the world’s largest marketplace for buying and selling NFTs. Entitled “Courage – Blue Snowfall,” this artwork makes a unique investment in the creative arts, and a way to support the larger EMDR community. 10% of the profits from Mark’s EMDR-related NFTs will go The EMDR Foundation.
